Morgaza (now demolished)

Morganza, Western State, Pennsylvania Western Center Reform School Morganza...the final name believed to be "Canonsburg Youth Development Center" around 1960

-there are many names for this building which has since been demolished to make room for a medical complex named "Southpointe II"

Built in 1872, this estate was used to house and supposedly reform the "incureable" boys and girls up until the age of 21. The administration building, using the the 1994 movie "Silence of the Lambs" used to be seen from a local highway.

Oddly enough, the man who purchased the land back in the 1800's created the estate for the community and in contract, was never to be torn down. Obviously the contract was not followed after the reformitory closed down in 2001 with lawsuits of malpractice and abuse.
